WeChat is closer to infrastructure than to a social network. Account, content, payment and customer relationship sit in one place, and a company without one is slightly harder to believe in.
What it does for a B2B company
- It proves you exist. A verified account with a real company name behind it is a check a prospect can run in ten seconds.
- It is a contact path. A QR code converts better than an email form for a Chinese reader — the form is a Western reflex.
- It is forwardable. Your contact can send your article into an internal group chat, which is where a lot of B2B decisions are actually discussed.
Service account or subscription account
The two types behave differently: one publishes often and lands in a grouped folder, the other publishes rarely and lands in the main conversation list. For B2B, rarely and visibly usually beats often and buried.
Registration as a foreign company is possible but requires documentation and patience. It is worth starting the process before you need the account, not when.
